We're rediscovering the magic of winter with old time sleigh rides in Lake Louise...

Imagine back to a time - not so long ago - when all travel in wintertime was either on snowshoes, rough wooden skis or, even more commonly, in a sleek sleigh behind a team of horses.

It’s no mistake that one of the most enduring Christmas songs takes all ages back to an era when winter travel meant dashing through the snow, enjoying fresh air and time with those you love all cuddled up in a horse drawn sleigh.

Brewster Adventures brings that Christmas card image to life at Lake Louise, with the winter schedule of sleigh rides that follow the lake side trail beneath Victoria Glacier. Views of the Ice Falls at the end of the Lake by day or the glow of the Chateau on evening rides.

While there are tons of activities to enjoy in the winter landscape, there is no better way to spend time together, drinking in the beauty of sparkling snow and blue sky, than bundled together in a sleigh.

Take your family gathering or holiday party outdoors at Lake Louise, with private sleigh ride bookings available for groups, romantic two-seat cutter rides, or regularly scheduled sleigh rides seven days a week. Evening rides are also available every day except Sundays, when you can enjoy the starlit sky and the beauty of a quiet Rocky Mountain night.

A sleigh ride in the mountains – whether you’re humming Jingle Bells or not – will take you back to simpler times, when families and friends enjoyed each other’s company, breathed in lots of healthy fresh air, and celebrated a special time of year.

See www.BrewsterAdventures.com for more information and the 2009-2010 sleigh ride schedule & video, or call (403) 522-1898, ext. 1210. Sleigh Rides depart from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Cowboys & Indians Writes Us Up..

We were really pleased to get a write-up about our Guest Ranch and  Pack Trips in the December 2009 issue of Cowboys & Indians magazine. Staff writer Dana Joseph visited a couple of years ago and went out on a backcountry horse trip to our cabins at Meadow Creek in the Ghost River area. She was extremely lucky as far as wildlife viewing was concerned ‑ 3 grizzlies in one trip.

We are in good company in this particular issue. Canadian country music icon and Longview, Alberta rancher, Ian Tyson is also featured and who can argue about the honour of sharing magazine space with the likes of country music legend, George Strait !

It's Snowing in Lake Louise. Sleigh Bells Soon!

Snow falling means it won't be long before we're hitching up the sleighs at the stables in Lake Louise  and running sleigh rides from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
We'll also be gearing up our Dance Barn for seasonal celebrations with sleigh rides followed by western barbecue dinners featuring the Brewster "Hip of Beef" and great after-dinner western entertainment. For more details go to our Dance Barn and Sleigh Ride web pages.

These days, families are seeking to enjoy simple, fun-filled gatherings around the Christmas holiday season. There’s no better way to enjoy time together as a family than a day in the mountains, lots of snow to play in, and the promise of a magical sleigh ride in the world’s most beautiful winter scenery.
